the counting system doesn't work that well i have found. popups and stuff raise the kill count but don't increase kills needed

This skill immediately comes to mind. You must have killed the grawls, which were enchanted by the spell, then killed the monk boss. Since killing something makes the enchantment wear off, they were revived. Or....something like that.

There are ways to get monsters in an area after it's vanquished.
A) resurrections, since they already count as dead for vanquishing purposes B) "ambush" spawns. I've been KILLED in vanquished areas by enemies spawning unexpectedly. |
